Yasoo Health Awarded Patent

April 6, 2004 - Press Release -Yasoo Health, Inc announced today patent protection for a novel tocopherol ester derivative with selenium and other minerals. The patent (#10,392,225) contains 15 health and research applications that show promise for the treatment of cancer, especially breast and prostate cancer. This patent application resulted from the collaborative research of Dr. Anastasios Keramidas and Dr. Andreani Odysseos of the University of Cyprus, as well as, Dr. Andreas Papas, President of Yasoo Health, Inc. The patent covers the synthesis and use of the tocopherol ester derivatives.

"This approved patent and six other pending patent applications underscore our commitment to the science of good health", states Konstantinos Papas, MD, Medical Director of Yasoo Health. "Our pending applications are all based on nutrients and natural compounds. They describe proprietary formulations for the management of cystic fibrosis, inflammatory bowel disease and diabetes." Yasoo Health's additional patent applications are the result of our extensive research program in collaboration with leading researchers in the United States and internationally.

Yasoo Health recently completed a Small Business Innovation Research grant, awarded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), for the development of proprietary formulations used for overcoming malabsorption in cystic fibrosis patients. Dr. Papas reports, "Our NIH formulation has received approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for a phase I clinical trial that will start within the next 30 days."
